The lava stone used in the Hot Stone Tray collection is forged from the magma of the Italian volcanos Etna and Vesuvius. When molten rock erupts and comes into contact with the cool temperature of the air, the solidification process of the lava begins, creating lava stone. Lava stone is dark in colour with the appearance of a burnt rock. The Lava Stone is excellent for cooking because the stone can accumulate the heat from your oven and release it slowly for an evenly cooked meal.
The pizza kit is composed of stainless aluminium tools. The Pizza Shovel has an easily resalable wooden handle and it is resistant to mould and breakage. The Pizza Scraper and the Pizza Shovel is useful to separate the dough and cut the pizza into the perfect triangle shapes and to serve it from the stone onto a plate while the pizza is still hot. Lastly, you get a unique and personalised apron. The rustic and elegant design of the Pizza Hot Stone kit can flatter any kitchen style.

BEFORE USE
Before using the Pizza Hot Stone, it is recommended to wash the stone with warm salty water and carefully dab the stone dry. Use a soft cloth to treat both sides of the stone with olive oil and let it rest for 4 hours before removing any excess olive oil. Lastly, place the Pizza Hot Stone in the oven at 300 degrees and let it heat up for 15 to 20 minutes. The Pizza Hot Stone will be HOT and it is recommended to wear heat protection on your hands when removing the stone from the oven. To check if your Pizza Hot Stone is ready to begin cooking on, pour a drop of water on the stone. If the water evaporates immediately, you can start cooking.
AFTER USE
Allow the Pizza Hot Stone to cool down. Avoid pouring cold water or any detergents over the stone, as it will cause a thermal shock within the stone. Once Pizza Hot Stone has completely cooled, you may clean the stone with hot water or by scrubbing the stone with lemon or white vinegar on both sides. Allow the stone to dry naturally. Cover it with a soft cloth before storing it in a dry place.
